An Accounting Manager looks after the everyday running of the accounts department of a business or organisation. You might be supervising a larger accounting team and overseeing operations including accounts payable and receivable, issuing invoices and receipts and managing employee payroll. Accounting Managers may also analyse the organisation’s financial data and prepare reports as required. You might also be involved with budgeting and taxation issues.
An Accounting Manager needs to be highly organised and able to handle several tasks at once. You’ll need excellent attention to detail and should be able to use a range of electronic financial systems and software. Accounting Managers need strong leadership skills and should be able to communicate with people at all levels of an organisation.
