General English
TasTAFE offers the English Language Program – General to English as an Additional Language (EAL) students seeking to improve their English language competency for personal and professional reasons. This course will develop general English language and communication skills, enabling students to operate more effectively in everyday situations, including social, study and work contexts. The program provides valuable interactive practice in reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. It seeks to build sound knowledge of the English language through focusing on grammar, language usage and vocabulary. These skills and knowledge are integrated in the learning activities provided, including role-plays, small group discussions, spoken presentations and essay writing. Our experienced teachers ensure that individual needs are taken into account in the design of these activities.
