You'll undertake advanced subjects that build on your bachelor’s study and focus heavily on research methods and techniques. This knowledge will prepare you to complete a substantial research project – the major component of your honours program.
Archaeology Major
This field of study will hone your skills in archaeological methods and techniques, and deepen your knowledge of past human cultures. Compulsory research seminars cover practical skills such as field survey and excavation, materials analysis, and how to interpret archaeological collections and sites.
UQ’s Archaeology Lab and Archaeology Teaching and Research Centre (ATARC) provide the largest integrated teaching and research facility of its kind in Australia and form the core of our program, which aims to train archaeologists for a professional career in Australia or around the world.
