Bachelor of Arts (Italian Studies)

Nationally Recognised Higher Education

Having the ability to communicate successfully across cultures, as well as the expertise to apply language and cultural engagement skills in local and global situations, will enhance your career prospects in a range of professions with an international outlook. An understanding of Italian is a useful professional skill that can be especially valuable when combined with a wide range of disciplines, including accounting, economics, education, international communication, law, media, politics or science.

The Italian Studies major will provide you with a sound knowledge of the Italian language, and of the history, society and rich culture of Italy. Via Latin, Italian refers to the roots of the English language, and so will give insight to students of linguistics and English literature. Units in Italian cinema, the Renaissance and Italian literature are available from beginner to advanced level.
