Monash University

Bachelor of Commerce (Economics)

Nationally Recognised Higher Education

Commerce isn’t just part of our world – it’s essential to how economies and society functions on a global scale. The commercial landscape influences everything from business decision-making to policy development. And it’s the curious, analytical thinking of brilliant business minds who lead that change in positive and progressive ways.

Commerce is an integral part of society. The Bachelor of Commerce explores how our desire to trade what we have for what we want has shaped how people and nations have interacted for millennia, and how global trade and digital disruption are fundamentally changing commerce in society.

Economics Major
Economics is the analysis of how people and societies choose to use their resources, and is at the centre of how our world operates. A major in Economics gives you knowledge of economic tools and analysis and teaches you how to apply them both in business and policy environments. You will learn how individuals, households, firms and governments interact, and how economies work. You will explore a range of different issues such as labour, health care, poverty, financial investments, production, taxes and government expenditures, and learn how to assess and implement policy change.
