Nationally Recognised Higher EducationChisholm’s Bachelor of Engineering Technology, specialising in mechatronics, will prepare you for a career as an engineering technologist, a career in high demand in Australia and around the world.
As a Chisholm student, you'll be exposed to a broad range of technical subjects, skill sets and industry trends, ensuring you'll stand out from the crowd when looking for employment.
Through this course, you'll develop advanced skills in problem solving, programming concepts, engineering system design, instrumentation principles, manufacturing systems, programmable logic controllers and workplace training.
After successful completion of the course, students can take a graduate position such as mechatronics engineer, control systems engineer, automation engineer, manufacturing, systems or product development engineer. Alternatively, further studies are available including Masters in Manufacturing or Masters in Engineering.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Applicants with recent secondary education (within the past two years)
- Completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent (no minimum ATAR required);
- Minimum study score of 25 in VCE* Units 3 & 4 Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent); and
- A selection interview to demonstrate capability to undertake study at degree level and personal attributes suitable for the profession of Engineering Technology.
Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study
- A completed Certificate IV or above;
- A selection interview to demonstrate capability to undertake study at degree level and personal attributes suitable for the profession of Engineering Technology, and
- Pass a mathematics test (provided by Chisholm) to assess academic skills.
Applicants with higher education study
- A complete or incomplete higher education qualification;
- A selection interview to demonstrate capability to undertake study at degree level and personal attributes suitable for the profession of Engineering Technology; and
- Pass a mathematics test (provided by Chisholm) to assess academic skills.
Applicants with work and life experience
- A minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) relevant industry experience;
- A selection interview to demonstrate capability to undertake study at degree level and personal attributes suitable for the profession of Engineering Technology; and
- Pass a mathematics test (provided by Chisholm) to assess academic skills.
- If required, STAT score of 140 Written English and 135 Multiple Choice.
