Information Systems and Business Analysis units
You must complete the following course:
FUNDAMENTALS OF CYBER SECURITY
This course introduces the essential cybersecurity concepts, the procedures for risk mitigation, data privacy protection, and governance. It covers a broad range of technical countermeasures from cryptographic algorithms to Internet protocols. It also thoroughly introduces how to enhance cybersecurity from three dimensions: people, technology, and policy.
You must complete 50 credit points from the following courses with at least 30 credit points at the third-year level:
BUSINESS ANALYSIS
This course provides intermediate coverage of the processes, methods, techniques, and tools used by business analysts with an emphasis on people skills supporting negotiation and communication for the elicitation and specification of requirements for an information systems solution.
IT SERVICES MANAGEMENT
This course provides an understanding of the concepts and principles of IT service management (ITSM). Various case studies are analyzed to deepen the understanding of ITSM. This course introduces Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) as a context to better understand the service lifecycle.
SECURE DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS
Incorporating cybersecurity design in software development is essential for producing contemporary software systems. This course introduces the principles of secure code development for software and web development.
AGILE BUSINESS ANALYSIS
Traditional IT project management approaches work well under stable conditions when intended project outcomes are well understood. Yet, under conditions of delivering value to clients early, in innovation projects, or new product development, traditional methods of software development are often too restrictive and inflexible.
INFORMATION SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE
The course introduces students to the concepts of Information Systems Architecture (ISA) and demonstrates how Information Systems, Engineering, and Management views can be unified by an enterprise architecture approach.
ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE CONCEPTS
The course introduces students to the concepts of Enterprise Architecture (EA) and demonstrates how Engineering and management views can be unified into a single EA approach. The course covers relevant international and industry standards, including Architecture Frameworks, Enterprise Modeling Frameworks and Languages, Reference Models, and Methodologies and is illustrated using industry case studies.
