Bachelor of Science (Applied Mathematics)
Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThis course provides a basic foundation in applied mathematics. The topics covered include algebra; linear, quadratic, trigonometric and logarithmic functions; vectors and matrices; and various calculus techniques (differentiation, integration and separable differential equations). The application of these topics to real world phenomena is integral to this course. Assessment is by problem solving exercises, mid semester and final examination. Assumed prior knowledge: Grade 12 Maths A or B Incompatible: 1202ENV Applied Mathematics; 1202EAS Applied Mathematics; 1002EAS Applied Mathematics; 1002AES Applied Mathematics; 1141AES Mathematics for the Environment; 1602SCE Mathematics; 1201SCE Mathematics 1A. THIS COURSE IS WITHDRAWN AND REPLACED BY 1013SCG APPLIED MATHEMATICS.
