Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology)
Nationally Recognised Higher EducationIt took 13 years and $1 billion to sequence the first human genome. Today, thanks to recent advances in biochemistry and molecular biology, you only need a few thousand dollars and you’ll get the results tomorrow. In this major, you’ll develop your understanding of biological processes and biomolecules. And, of course, you’ll spend lots of time in the lab developing the skills you need to work in this field. You will build the knowledge and hands-on skills needed in many rapidly advancing fields, such as medical research and biotechnology.Careers await in medical and pharmaceutical research, the biotechnology industry, or in the development and production of specialised laboratory equipment and reagents.
