Quantitative Skills with Applications (MTHS110)- Mathematical models appear throughout the natural and social sciences. For example, growth of both cell populations and money can be modelled using exponential functions. Introducing you to the universality of mathematics, this unit emphasises your development of good mathematical intuition and technical problem solving.
- In an increasingly data-driven world, the importance of quantitative skills has never been greater. This unit is ideal if you do not have a strong mathematical background or you would like a refresher in foundational topics.
- Innovation in diverse scientific contexts, from livestock experiments to analysis of Martian soils, relies on statistics. Statistical methods are used universally to better understand the importance of observations and experiments, and to help us to investigate and explain the ways complex systems work.
