Study the physical, biological, and chemical properties of food, and the concepts underlying food safety and processing. You'll blend food chemistry, food processing and preservation to help solve the problems of developing a safe, healthy, and nutritious food supply for people everywhere.

This knowledge gained from your study is also strongly applicable to product development, policy and business management in the food industry.

You can enter a wide variety of roles including discovering healthy new foods, investigating the effects of bioactive food components like prebiotics and antioxidants on health, helping to regulate food safety, maintaining quality in food manufacturing or making foods that remain safe and stable longer.
