Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Geology)

Nationally Recognised Higher Education Honours is a 1-year program consisting of a research project and associated theoretical work. An Honours year provides professional training in a chosen area of specialization, providing the opportunity to experience scientific research firsthand.

Researchers in the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering, and Technology at the University of Adelaide are international leaders in their fields, providing an opportunity for students to work at the cutting edge of science and technology.

During an Honours year, you will learn new techniques and broaden your skill base, opening the doors to increased job opportunities. Honours can give you a competitive edge in the job market, or if you are interested in further study, it is an important foundation for postgraduate research.

Depending on your study choices, you could emerge well-prepared for senior and leadership roles in a specific scientific discipline or as a science generalist, in the public or private sector. Or perhaps you’ll aim higher still and go on to Masters or PhD-level research. Wherever you want to go, you’ll be perfectly placed.
