Bachelor of Theology

Nationally Recognised Higher Education

Do you have vocational or ministerial goals? If so, you might be an ideal candidate for this degree at the School of Philosophy & Theology.

The Bachelor of Theology is a three-year degree designed to provide students with a grounding in Biblical and Theological Studies and associated disciplines. The program covers Church History, Moral Theology, Biblical Studies, Doctrinal or Systematic Theology and Sacramental Theology and Liturgy. You will learn more about your faith and how to examine it with academic expertise, emphasising the importance of communicating reasoned beliefs to others.

Within the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, theology relies upon philosophy, and philosophy reaches out to what theology has to offer. As a theology student, you will learn to think well by creatively entering the dynamic relationship between these disciplines.

With this degree, you will be ideally prepared for Catholic ministry and other religious education, academic teaching, youth work, and pastoral care opportunities. You will have the skills and imagination to approach contemporary problems in various ways.
