Security Licensing Eligibility
The Office of Fair Trading has determined that committing a criminal offence may affect your ability to get or hold a security licence.
Some criminal offences are so serious that you’ll be automatically disqualified from having a security licence if you have had a conviction recorded within the last 10 years.

Please note - we are not a CRICOS RTO.
International students on Visas will need to apply to a CRICOS Registered Training Organisation to complete Security Training.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
To enrol in the CPP20118 Certificate II in Security Operations, students must meet the following entry requirements to work as an unarmed security officer in Queensland:
- be 18 or older and have proof of your identity at the time of application for licence
- have your fingerprints taken by the police
- pass a criminal history check
- complete the required training course.
No prior security experience is required — this course is designed for new entrants looking to begin a professional career as a licenced Security Officer.

- QLD Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the QLD Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
- Option 1: Class 1 (without First Aid) – $1,300
- Option 2: Class 1 with First Aid – $1,400
- Option 3: Class 1 with First Aid – Career Start Funding

To access a subsidised training place under Career Start, a student must meet the following criteria:
- aged 15 years or older;
- not be a school student;
- permanently reside in Queensland;
- be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen;
- not already have a certificate III or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student and foundation skills qualifications do not count);
- not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded by DTET or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count).
