Graduate as a fully qualified hairdresser with the Certificate III in Hairdressing.

This qualification reflects the role of hairdressers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation, and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of hairdressing services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their work. This qualification provides a pathway to work as a hairdresser in any industry environment, usually a salon.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.
  • Complete a Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB)an online test to ensure the required literacy & numeracy levels for the course are met.
  • Undertake a Pre-training review interview to ensure the course suits their needs and aspirations, and that they are likely to complete the course successfully.
  • The GOTAFE preferred pathway is for prospective students to have completed a Certificate II in Salon Assistant before starting this course.
  • Prospective Traineeship or Apprenticeship students are required to apply through an Apprenticeship Network Provider with their employer to organise their apprenticeship contract before applying for this course.
