Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care)
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)You will have direct contact with clients and assist them with personal care, communication, mobility and rehabilitation. You will be required to implement programs and procedures to maximise client wellbeing. Acting as an assistant to a nurse, your working environment can be varied. You may need to work shift hours and will need to use equipment designed for manual handling. When you complete this course, you will be ready for a career in Health services. You will have the skills and knowledge to assist health staff in the provision of services to client/patients within a health care setting. You will learn about teamwork and effective communication, infection control processes and procedures, and basic medical terminology. You will also learn skills to assist with clients and provide support to nursing team in an acute care environment.
