Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is a nationally recognised qualification that prepares you to provide skilled and compassionate support to people living with disability.
This course equips you with both practical skills and theoretical knowledge to deliver person-centred care in a variety of settings. You’ll learn how to support individuals with daily activities, promote independence, and facilitate community participation, helping people with disability achieve greater confidence, self-reliance, and quality of life.
This course is available for domestic students only.

Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Effective English communication is essential for participating in this course
- An Apex staff member may conduct a brief language and literacy assessment during the application process - For government funding, Apex must use the Queensland government’s Apprenticeships / All Students Info–Self Service (AISS) tool/search facility to confirm eligibility
- Done within 30 days before your enrolment to help confirm whether you have previously obtained a certificate III or higher-level qualification
- No extra cost - Your Unique Student Identifier (USI) within 14 days of enrolment at Apex*
- A Federal Police Check showing no criminal record
*Note: Apex might also request access to your USI transcript at any stage during your studies. This transcript will be accessed in line with our privacy policies and procedures. No extra cost

- QLD Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the QLD Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
Self-Funded Fees: $1,584 to $2,121
Government-Funded Fees: $8 to $15
(+$500 interstate charge for students outside of Metro Brisbane or Melbourne)
This course is eligible for the Career Start Program.
Government Funding Program Requirements:
To be eligible, you must:
- be aged 15 years or older, and no longer in school
- permanently live in Queensland
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with an eligible visa subclass
- not already have a certificate III or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student, and foundation skills qualifications don't count)
- not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it's on hold or deferred, whether funded by us (Department of Trade, Employment and Training) or not (foundation skills qualification don't count).
