Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)With this trade-level Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, you will be able to jumpstart your career as a mechanic and begin working in the automotive industry more quickly than you ever thought possible.
During this course, you will be able to service and repair the mechanical components of motor vehicles, including the engine, transmission, suspension system (steering, brakes, wheels, and tyres), as well as learning about managing a small automotive business. Furthermore, you will gain the managerial skills necessary to manage a small automotive business. Completing this course will equip you with the necessary skills to obtain a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, allowing you to confidently service and repair a wide range of mechanical components in motor vehicles, while also providing you with the knowledge and expertise to effectively manage a small automotive business.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Successful completion of AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
- Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age, or turning 18 years of age prior to commencement of their study.
- Students require a completed Year 10 or equivalent; or Non school-leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit,vocational experience, previous study, LLN level and personal competencies.
If a student’s first language is not English, they must satisfy one of the following English language proficiency requirements:
- Student’s must have English proficiency as guided by New England College English Proficiency Policy and Procedure.
- IELTS Test – overall score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no individual section score less than 5.5.
- Pre-entry Oxford English online test result of no less than B2.2 with a minimum score of 71.
NOTE: All applicants from AL3 countries must sit an IELTS test.
