This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of light vehicles in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

The qualification has been specifically developed to meet the needs of the light vehicle automotive industry. As part of their training the apprentice will perform a range of work including the service and repair of the mechanical parts such as the engine, transmission (clutch, gear box and differential), and the suspension systems (springs, steering, brakes, wheels and tyres).
