Complete your apprenticeship qualification to become a qualified mobile plant technician. Gain the skills and knowledge required to repair and service heavy mobile plant equipment used widely in the mining, construction, earthmoving and rural industries.
According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, demand for qualified mechanics grew strongly over the past five years with employers finding it hard to fill vacancies. Job openings are expected to remain steady in the near future with around 23,000 job opening expected over the next five years.
Learn how to repair and replace electrical and electronic circuit systems, diagnose and repair engines and engine components such as tracked type drive and support systems, repair mobile plant braking systems, fluid power and steering systems, drive assembles, and transmissions. Our industry-expert teachers will show you how to apply your new skills and knowledge to practical tasks to carry out these diagnostic and repair procedures.
Successful completion of this qualification as part of your apprenticeship allows you to apply to become a qualified mobile plant tradesperson and continue your career in the industry.
