Certificate III in Pathology Collection
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)If you would like to work in pathology as a specimen collector (phlebotomist) this course will teach you how to take blood samples, various swabs and electrocardiograms for patients requiring pathology tests. You will learn infection control, first aid, WHS principles, how to prepare samples for testing, as well as communication and customer service skills. The course includes performing live bleeds in class and out in the industry, giving you real life experience.
This course follows a flipped classroom methodology, where students are exposed to learning content online via Moodle, prior to on campus tutorial to consolidate key concepts. The classes are a mix of theoretical learning and practical application of skills that they will use in workplace situations once graduated.
