As a qualified education support worker, you will play a vital role in primary and secondary schools, facilitating learning for diverse groups, including students who require additional support.
Your new skills will include:
- Empowering Students: Help students with various needs, including those with autism, enhance their learning experiences and achieve academic success.
- Promoting Wellbeing: Ensure a safe and supportive environment by contributing to the health and wellbeing of all students.
- Collaboration: Work alongside teachers to implement effective educational programs, analysing student progress and providing valuable insights to enhance learning outcomes.
- Flexible Learning: This course features a minimum of 100 hours of practical work placement in a classroom environment, ensuring you gain hands-on experience while studying online at your own pace.

Online
Set your own study schedule and balance study with your other commitments.
Work Placement
100 hoursSelf-paced completed online in your own time, at your own pace.
This course is delivered using an asynchronous study methodology, utilising mainly online delivery (eLearning) of learning materials and assessment resources.
We provide our students ongoing support throughout the course duration via telephone, emails and/or virtual online meetings, on request.
The course also requires completion of at least 100 hours of work placement in a classroom environment within at least one school in Australia which will provide the student with hands-on experience under the supervision of a qualified and experienced workplace supervisor.
Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
This course does not have mandatory entry requirements as outlined in the training package.
However, Australian College has certain admission criteria for this course. Prospective students must:
- be minimum 15 years of age or older at the time of enrolment. Parental consent is required from all students under the age of 18 years
- complete a language, literacy and numeracy test prior to enrolment
- have access to an approved operational school education environment to complete work placement requirements
- have access to work colleagues or individuals prepared to participate in audio/video roleplays for specific assessment tasks
- obtain their Unique Student Identifier (USI) and provide it to Australian College.
- agree to comply with Australian College policies and procedures as published on the website and outlined in the Student Handbook.
- pay all fees as outlined in the Enrolment Terms and Conditions.
Course fees
- NSW Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
PAYMENT OPTION 1 – $1,400 on enrolment, $1,400 on week 2, $700 on week 3
PAYMENT OPTION 2 – $450 deposit, then $70 weekly (for 50 weeks) = $3,950
PAYMENT OPTION 3 – Zip Money or customise your own payment plan
NSW Smart and Skilled Funding is available for eligible students.
