The Certificate III in Stonemasonry is a nationally recognised Stonemasons, skilled tradespeople working with stone to create various structures and sculptures, such as buildings and monuments.
Certified stonemasons are expected to have expertise in identifying the properties and qualities of stone, using hand and power tools, stone cutting and carving techniques, Stonework layout and construction and stone restoration and conservation.
The units of this qualification include laying stone masonry stairs, setting and anchoring stone facades, planning and organising work, and dressing and shaping stone automatically and manually. You will become proficient in carrying out measurements and calculations, investigating micro business opportunities and carrying out excavation.
