Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) This qualification reflects the role of allied health assistants who provide therapeutic and program related support to persons, in the health, aged care, disability and any other settings where Allied Health Professionals provide services. Allied Health Assistants work under the delegation and supervision of Allied Health Professionals and assist in identifying circumstances and risks and report issues. They may be engaged to work in single discipline or multidisciplinary roles not limited to health, aged care or disability services and other settings and may also have responsibility for other allied health assistance workers according to their scope of practice.

Work Placement

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of clinical placement as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.
Applicants must be able to provide a current clear Police Check as part of their application and are responsible for all costs associated. Prior to undertaking practical placement, applicants must be willing to provide a Working with Children Check and must be willing to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check, applicants are responsible for all costs associated. Applicants must be willing to provide proof of their up-to-date immunisation status including Covid-19 to employers to undertake practical placement, if requested. Additional requirements may apply.
