Certificate IV in Electrical - Instrumentation

This course is only available in QLD, NSW and TAS.

The UEE40420 Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation is a new qualification that supersedes UEE40411. It provides a pathway for a licensed electricians to gain a nationally recognised qualification in instrumentation. It provides students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in Instrumentation and Process Automation.

This qualification covers competencies to select, install, commission, fault find and maintain equipment and systems for the control of plant, machines and processes. It includes an understanding of calibration and commissioning of Pressure, Level, Density, Flow and Temperature Transmitters, as well as PLC programming.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

To be eligible to undertake the course you must currently hold a UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician OR a current ‘Unrestricted Electricians Licence’ or its equivalent issued in an Australian state or territory.​

If students do not have an Unrestricted Electrical Licence but still wish to do some or all units of competency that are part of this qualification, they will be issued a Statement of Attendance (after Meo Training analyses the situation and considers that the student has sufficient prior knowledge to attend the unit(s)).

​If students wish to enrol in just one or some of the units of competency that are part of this qualification, Meo Training will analyse the situation and consider that the student has sufficient prior knowledge to attend the unit(s).
