Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The Certificate IV in Mental Health (CHC43315) is ideal qualification for those wanting to develop the specialist skill to work with clients who have a mental health illness. With 1 in 5 Australians experiencing mental illness every year this is an area of growing concern requiring trained professionals to help those in need. Graduates will be tasked with providing self-directed recovery oriented support for people affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability.
This qualification would prepare you to take on role where you provide self-directed recovery support for people who are affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability.
This cornerstone course would appeal to those who have some work or volunteer experience in community services or health and want to branch out into mental health work. You will examine the link between mental health and alcohol and other drugs, as well as exploring mental health in the community and in the work place. A focus on working with families dealing with mental health issues is also covered.
