Diploma of Counselling
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This qualification reflects the role of counsellors, who work with clients on personal and psychological issues using established counselling modalities. They use communication, micro-counselling and interviewing skills and draw on varied counselling therapies to assist clients. At this level, the counsellor will be working in defined and supported counselling roles in established agencies rather than in independent practice.

On campus
Work with instructors and classmates in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Work Placement
Complete mandatory hands-on training in a workplace setting.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Be 18 years of age and provide Photo ID with proof of age.
- Be of Aboriginal or/Torres Strait Islander Decent
- Be residing in Western Australia
- Have completed CHC43315 Certificate in Mental Health; or
- An equivalent completed Certificate IV qualification; or
- Evidence of currently working in the industry.

Working with Children Check card
Current Police Clearance to meet the work placement requirements.
