Diploma of Paralegal Services
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan and carry out work in a legal context in accordance with legislation, regulations and codes of practice relevant to the different jurisdictions.
As a BSB50720 Diploma of Paralegal Services graduate with suitable experience you will be equipped to progress to a variety of roles including a Paralegal, Legal Clerk and Legal Secretary
Duration: This course has a duration of either 12 or 18 months, depending on the time you have available to dedicate to studies.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- At least 2 years work experience in a related field OR
- Have completed the following units (or equivalent competencies): BSBLEG314 Protect information in a legal services environment; BSBLEG423 Conduct simple legal research; and BSBLEG424 Support the drafting of complex legal documents (or equivalent competencies).
Entry to this qualification is limited to those who have completed the following units (or equivalent competencies):
- BSBLEG314Protect information in a legal services environment
- BSBLEG423 Conduct simple legal research and
- BSBLEG424 Support the drafting of complex legal documents
(If you do not hold these prerequisites, you can complete them as part of your enrolment in the BSB50720 Diploma of Paralegal Services for an additional fee of $750.)
OR
Have two years equivalent full-time relevant work experience.
- Year 11 of the NSW Higher School Certificate or its equivalent
Course fees
Maximum Fee for this course is $6,900
VET Student Loans (VSL) Approved
This course offered by Australian Careers Business College, RTO Code 90271 is approved for VET Student Loans, for eligible applicants.
- VSL will not be approved for students who do not meet eligibility requirements and
- A VET Student Loan gives rise to a VETSL debt, which continues to be a debt due to the Commonwealth until it is repaid.
