CHCSS00130 Individual Support – Disability Skill Set is for people working in various care and support roles in the community services industry who wish to develop the skills necessary to support people with a disability.

This Skill Set reflects the skill requirements for providing person-centred support to people with disability in various settings.

Gain the skills and knowledge to assist with the ongoing skill development of a person with a disability. Learn how to assist with supporting people with a disability in community participation and social inclusion using a person-centred approach. Develop skills to facilitate the empowerment of people with a disability and implement behaviour support strategies outlined in individualised behaviour support plans.

The units of study in this Skill Set provide credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package.

This Skill Set is suitable for people who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in Community Services, Health or related field, work in various care and support roles and who wish to develop skills in providing person-centred support to people with disability. Additional requirements may apply.
