Accounting Units
- Accounting MPA701 - This unit assumes no previous specific accounting knowledge and concentrates on financial accounting with the objective of students understanding the basic principles and procedures governing what and how information is processed. This includes an analysis of financial reporting outcomes to interpret what the outcomes reveal, together with any shortcomings of processes that may impact upon the quality of information presented.
- Accounting for Management MAA703 - In this unit, students learn about how management accounting satisfies management's need for information for planning and control purposes. It covers cost concepts, cost-volume-profit relationships, product costing systems, activity-based costing, budgeting and standard costs. Topics also include financial performance analysis, decentralised operations, relevant costs for decision making, and contemporary approaches to measuring performance.
