Human resource management (Master of Business Administration)
- Units
- MMH701 - Human Resource Strategy
- MMH702 - Strategic Staffing
- MMH704 - Managing and Rewarding Performance
- MMH709 - Workplace Relations
This unit provides an in-depth understanding of theories and models of strategic human resource management and how they are applied in organisations to enhance performance. It includes an understanding of the synergy between an organisation’s strategic direction, the strategic use of its people resources, and the HR systems and practices that are necessary to achieve an organisation’s goals.
This unit aims to contribute to student understanding of four core parts of strategic staffing, namely: (1) the staffing context; (2) recruitment; (3) personnel selection; and (4) retention management. As we will see, these four parts each play a key role in facilitating the movement of talent into, through, and out of the organisation in a way that enables the organisation to compete successfully in its marketplace.
This unit provides students with the skills to examine, analyse, and critically evaluate the role which human resource management plays in managing the rewards and performance of individuals and groups in organisations. The first part of the unit focuses on performance and the second part on reward.
This unit presents an overview of employment relations in an Australian and international context. It focuses on the way employment relationships are managed within a framework of change.
