Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting qualification provides students with the approved first aid training needed to work as a teacher, educator, or childcare worker, and render medical assistance in a medical emergency. The course provides students with the skills and knowledge required to provide an emergency first aid response to infants and children, and treat a wide variety of illnesses and injuries.
Graduates know how to provide minors with medical care appropriately and follow established first aid principles as laid out by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian peak clinical bodies.
The course includes all the content of a standard first aid training certificate, with additional learning to cover the specialised training requirements of those working in educational and care settings, including extra asthma and anaphylaxis training, and instruction on how to recognise signs of injury and illness in children or infants.
