Provide First Aid
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This competency standard covers the skills and knowledge required to provide essential first aid in any required workplace, especially the security industry. It requires the ability to recognise and respond to an emergency using basic life support measures. The procedures described in this unit relate to providing an initial response where first aid is required. For example, ability to respond to emergency situations, demonstrating Rescue Breathing (R.B), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), fractures, head injuries and managing serious bleeding, Asthma, Stab / Shot wounds and so forth.
