Work Safely in the Vicinity of Live Electrical Apparatus as a Non-Electrical Worker

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) Overhead powerline contact is one of the largest single causes of fatalities associated with mobile plant and equipment. Contact with overhead powerlines is a serious risk because any voltage that causes sufficient current to pass through the heart is potentially injurious or even fatal. There are legislative obligations on employers, self-employed persons and controllers of premises in regard to undertaking work in close proximity, or at an unsafe distance to overhead powerlines.
