Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform advanced diagnostic tasks in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

Students will work in an automotive workshop as highly skilled diagnosticians. They are responsible for diagnosing difficult faults and must be able to use highly technical diagnostic equipment and have a high level of understanding of vehicle and machinery systems.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.
Those undertaking the Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis must have completed Australian Year 11 or an automotive mechanical Certificate III qualification, or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency. Additional requirements may apply.
