Diploma of Mental Health
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This qualification reflects the role of workers who provide services to clients in relation to mental health issues. They can provide counselling, referral, advocacy, education and health promotion services.
These workers are required to have high level specialist knowledge, skills and competencies especially in regard to laws affecting people with mental health issues, the range of services available to them and health issues related to mental health.

On campus
Work with instructors and classmates in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Work Placement
Complete mandatory hands-on training in a workplace setting.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
All applicants are required to attend an interview, Applicants must successfully complete BKSB assessment with an outcome of exit level 3 (working at 4) for literacy and exit level 2 (working at 3) for numeracy, Please note: All students need to be able to obtain a clear volunteer Working with Children Check prior to undertaking work placement., Student Enquiry and Enrolment Services may refer the applicant to the Community and Social Services Department to assess the applicant's suitability to meet the requirements of the course, Students must successfully complete a minimum of 160 hours work placement, Students who are unable to complete workplacement, will be unable to successfully complete the requirements of the course.
