Australian Construction Training and Mining (ACTM) Training and Consultancy is a family owned Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that has been operating initially in South East Queensland and now nationally since 1998. Ron and Sherylle Maling deliver training and assessment as well as consultancy services in a number of vocational areas.
As the directors of ACTM Corporation Pty Ltd (ACTM), trading as ACT Training, Ron & Sherylle Maling (Directors), have been delivering training and assessment and offer consultancy services nationally in a number of vocational areas since 1998. From a background of driving instructor training in car, motorcycle and heavy vehicle trading as Maclean Pines Driving School / ACT Training, as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Accreditation No. 2927, ACTM has developed its scope of registration to deliver training and assessment across a number of vocational areas on a national basis.
ACT Training trading as ACT Training / ACTM is delivering training and assessment to the public and the private sectors at various training centres throughout Australia. ACTM' has delivered Corporate training for NSW Roads and Maritime Services Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment Licencing (RMS HVCBA Licencing), Motorcycle Instructor Licence upgrade training for the NT Transport Department, Female Truck Licence training for Cleanaway Qld as well as delivering training and assessment in the Private sector nationally for individuals in Driving Instructor Training (Car, Motorcycle and Heavy Vehicle), plant and forklift tickets.
Much of this training is delivered on site in remote locations. ACT Training offers flexible delivery of training contextualised to meet your business requirements and our trainers and assessors are prepared and able to travel to your training location including on site in remote locations throughout Australia.
This qualification defines the skills and knowledge required for road transport trainers who will be training individuals or groups in cars, heavy vehicles or motorcycles. This qualification is not for the public to gain a driver’s licence.

Driving must be carried out in accordance with relevant state/territory road and traffic authority licence requirements and regulations for multi-combination vehicles.
Driving is performed with limited supervision, and duty of care responsibility for self and others in achieving the prescribed outcomes.

Achieving this unit of competency is a necessary requirement for obtaining a licence. However, it is only one of several criteria for obtaining a DG driver licence. More information can be sourced from the regulator in each jurisdiction regarding other criteria that apply, which can vary between states and territories. Compliance with these requirements may be required nationally and/or in specific jurisdictions.
The unit covers compliance with regulatory requirements but does not address all the skills and knowledge for the transportation of DG. On achieving this unit and obtaining a licence, further industry specific training will be required to satisfy legislative requirements to transport DG.
