The HLT21020 Certificate II Medical Service First Response qualification reflects the role of first medical response workers or volunteers who provide initial care to patients. These people provide basic first aid and emergency responses in the pre-hospital/out-of-hospital environment.

Covering clinical and physical assessment skills, together with essential emergency care competencies, students acquire the experience and knowledge necessary to function effectively as an Industrial Medic.

This three phase course includes external studies, together with an e-learning component, face-to-face learning, and clinical placement in busy metropolitan workplace where students are likely to experience real life emergencies such as Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, medical and traumatic emergencies.

Non-emergency patient transport program reflects the role of workers who provide non-emergency transport and care for patients who have non-acute or chronic illness or disability and require transport. Workers in this role provide appropriate patient assessment and follow procedures for safe removal of a patient for transport for pre-arranged or booked transport service. Time of response is not given high priority in comparison to emergency transport.

HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in Remote Situations or Isolated Site Gain the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response and emergency life support to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation.

Provide First Aid in Remote or Isolated Site course is ideal for those who may be required to prepare for and provide a first aid response in locations beyond the reach of timely medical assistance. The course provides you with various skills specific to working in remote situations such as monitoring casualties over an extended period of time, administering medication under direct medical directions and evaluating possible options for a medical evacuation.

HLT51020 Diploma of Emergency Health Care program reflects pre-hospital and out-of-hospital workers employed to provide patient assessment, healthcare and transport services. These workers possess clinical skills and theoretical knowledge and provide clinical assessment and pre-hospital and out-of-hospital interventions to patients in an emergency, including providing advanced skills in life support.
