By developing an understanding of the Four Books through a structured learning approach, students will become proficient at analysing the synopsis, original texts, annotations, and commentaries of the Four Books.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Provide a notarized (English-translated) Junior High School Certificate [Year 10 Certificate in Australia] or an overseas equivalent qualification recognized by an accrediting authority.
Have attained fluency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Mandarin.
Be able to recite by memory «???»,«???»,«?????», and «??» in Mandarin.
Recommend completing the English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS)*.
Attend an online workshop and pass the academic and virtue assessments given by the Department of Sinology Studies.
*Although the course is mainly taught in Mandarin, students need strong English skills, especially for the Sinology/Buddhist Studies-related English unit NAT10958008 Develop and apply basic Sinological English skills. Applicants from an English-speaking background and/or with sufficient English skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) are exempt from ELICOS.
