This qualification provides a pathway to work in any sector of the hospitality industry as a departmental, operational, or small business manager.

Individuals in these roles carry out complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise. They may undertake technical research and analysis and will often contribute to setting the strategic direction for a work area.

The qualification is suited to individuals who are responsible for the supervision and leadership of a team or work area (including managing staff performance and making staffing decisions).

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

These individuals take responsibility for their own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

HLTAID011 supersedes HLTAID003, a course that is mandatory for people who may need to provide emergency response in a variety of settings, including the workplace and community. This is a blended course with self-paced online learning (e-Learning) and face-to-face training. Before attending the face-to-face training, students will need to complete their e-Learning which can be done in one sitting. Depending on the student’s learning ability, they should allow up to 6 hours for reading and e-Learning and the Face-to-face training and assessment takes 6 hours in a classroom environment.

This unit supersedes HLTAID001 and provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course covers the knowledge and skills required to provide CPR, manage and assess an emergency, use an automatic external defibrillator (AED), understand DRSABCD and the First Aider’s legal responsibilities. Provide CPR is trained and assessed in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This is a blended course with self-paced online learning (e-Learning) and face-to-face training. Before attending the face-to-face training, students will need to complete their e-Learning which can be done in one sitting. Depending on the student’s learning ability, they should allow up to 4 hours for reading and e-Learning. Face-to-face training and assessment take 3 hours in a classroom environment.

The HLTAID012 course is ideal for educators, support staff, childcare workers, and careers of children. This course is also suitable for anybody working in daycare, family daycare, pre-school and after-school programs and care services. The Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) has endorsed the HLTAID012 as satisfying all educator requirements for First Aid, Anaphylaxis Management and Emergency Asthma Training as outlined in the National Regulations.

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to provide emergency first aid, life support, and management of casualty(s) in a range of situations commonly found in the education and care industry.
