Diploma of Community Services
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This qualification addresses work in roles that usually involve service delivery, either direct client work and/or community education or development projects.
Workers at this level operate at an advanced skill level and may also have responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteers and the design and delivery of service programs, managing budgets, contracts and compliance requirements.
Possible career options for graduates are Welfare Worker, Youth Worker, Developmental Worker, Home Care worker, Family Carer or Nursing Assistant. Graduates are able to work in aged care homes, youth shelters, State Government Family and Community Service Agencies, youth centres, aboriginal communities, community centres and local councils. Working for oneself through contract community work is possible also.
