The CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health Online looks at the link between mental health issues and alcohol and other drugs, as well as looking at mental health in the community and in the work place. You will learn the principles of recovery-orientated practice, communication techniques to build and maintain relationships, and you will learn how to support people with co-existing mental health and alcohol and other drug issues.
This online course reflects the role of workers who provide self-directed recovery orientated support for people affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability. The online course will involve implementing community based programs and activities focusing on mental health, mental illness and psychiatric disability.
The requirements for this qualification includes a minimum of 80 hours of work placement to achieve the course outcomes. If a learner is currently working in the industry some sign-off against the work placement hours will be accepted from their workplace. For learners who do not currently have a suitable workplace, Hader Institute of Education will assist the learner to find a suitable facility.
