About AMA Training Services

This is an ideal qualification for those wishing to enter the health industry and support allied health professionals and their clients.

The qualification equips students with the skills and knowledge to attain employment in roles such as Therapy Assistant, Physiotherapy assistant, Allied health assistant, Podiatry assistant or Speech pathology assistant.

The course includes an 120-hour work placement, which is organised by AMA Training Services in conjunction with the student.

This qualification is ideally suited for students either already working or wishing to work in an administrative capacity within the health or community sector.

Workers follow known routines and procedures, taking responsibility for their own work under general supervision, they combine communication, customer service and technical skills, and use discretion and judgment to adapt and transfer their skills to different situations.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts.

The qualification is delivered by AMA Training Services under a fee for service or Traineeship arrangement where the student is employed in a clerical / administrative role and completes the program at their own pace. Each student is assigned a trainer / assessor who will mentor and support the student as they progress through the qualification. Student receive a set of learning guides covering the units of competency selected. Progressively as the student completes their learning guides and assignments, they will meet with their trainer / assessor who will assess their competency in a particular unit (s) of competency. The assessment process includes a combination of verbal questioning and discussion, demonstration, gathering a portfolio of evidence, assignments and supervisor verification.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.

Certificate II in Community Health and Wellbeing, provides students with the necessary entry level skills and knowledge to work towards a career in Community Services and Health. Covering foundation material, it also provide information on the range of career options and opportunities that exist in the sector and can be used to help guide enrolments into future Certificate or Diploma program.

Running face to face, one day a week for 30 weeks, the program easily fits into most Secondary School programs. The course is offered in a variety of locations across the Perth Metropolitan area. Regional delivery is due to commence in 2024.
